CARISTA
The dj-sets of Dutch-Surinamese Carista swing easily between electronic rhythms and soulful grooves. Her diverse selection goes from hiphop, house, bass heavy sounds to disco, jazz and everything in between. There is not one specific box where you can put Carista in maybe only in the box ‘constant high quality’ what makes this woman only even more interesting and special, because she challenges herself to be innovative every time. In July 2015 she decided to host her own radioshow on Red Light Radio because she felt that something was missing soundwise at that particular time. She immediately became a resident and people started noticing her unique sound, impressive record collection and hosting skills.

Making radio is the core of what Carista loves to do with all her heart and since September 2017 she also holds a monthly residency on London-based online radiostation NTS. In both shows, on Red Light Radio and NTS, the Utrecht-native shares timeless and exciting music from the (inter)national music scene in its broadest sense with her listeners. Carista, a versatile selector who isn’t afraid to surprise the crowd whenever, wherever by doing what she is best at – sharing her infectious positive energy as a human being and her taste in good music to you and yours.

A selector with refined technique and an extremely personal style, Miss Lieb combines Boogie, Disco, Italo, and 80s funk in coherent, smooth sets that never lose their groove.
